Course Description:
This is an online, introductory course to the basics of Entrepreneurship in the modern marketplace. This course will briefly cover topics ranging from developing an idea and acquiring funding to basic marketing. Students will gain the knowledge they need to continue their education and get a head start into the world of entrepreneurship.
Course Purpose and Objectives:
To introduce aspiring entrepreneurs to the basics of the entrepreneurial process.
Prerequisites and Necessary Tools:
There are no course or degree prerequisites to enroll in this program. The student is, however, required to have access to a computer with a stable internet connection and a modern, up-to-date web browser.
Organization of Program:
The program is organized into a sequence of 7 Lessons. Each lesson includes a video lecture, quiz to judge the student’s understanding, and assignment that will be completed inside the assignment page.
Text:
All materials needed for the course will be located within the course platform. No outside resources will be required to complete the course.
Course Requirements:
Students are expected to complete each Lesson in the order that they are presented. After watching a Lecture, students will take a quiz/assessment to confirm their understanding of the material. In addition to the quiz, lessons will require the student to complete an Assignment related to the subject of the Lecture. Assignments may require effort that varies from a few minutes to half an hour.
Attendance and Completion Policy:
There is no attendance policy, as the course is designed to be completed at the student’s own pace. There is no penalty for students who do not complete the course.
Grading Policy:
Student assignments and assessments will be graded on a pass/fail basis. In order to pass a graded assignment, a student must satisfactorily complete the assignment. In the event a student does not achieve a passing score on an assignment, a course administrator may require the student to return to a section and attempt it again before continuing in the course. Because of this policy, there is no true way to “fail” the program as a whole. A student who puts in the time and effort to complete the material to the course administrator’s satisfaction will receive a passing grade in the course.
